Guest guest
Hey all. My sister in-law is a nurse at Albany Medical Center, and took a new positing in the heart-transplance unit, but they also work partly in the ICU. She has recently had several esophagectomy patients under a Dr. Riivo Ilves. I have never heard of him, and haven't found much on the internet about him other than his actual page from his practice. My sister in-law is doing some checking into him, but says word from others that have been there longer than her is that he's been around for years, and he probably does an esophagectomy (for whatever reason) on average about once a week, which is actually a high number. Because we have family in the Albany area and wouldn't be alone if I choose to move forward with the esophagectomy, getting it done in Albany would be super. Of course, it has to be the right doctor with the right experience (that always comes over convenience), but I thought it might be worth looking into. He's in my insurance network, so all it would take to see him is a referral from my doc and a $30 copay. I am going to ask Dr. Rice if he knows of him when I see him on Nov. 2nd, but I thought I'd throw the name out there. Thanks, in NY
