Guest guest
Sorry its been awhile since my last post. Things are going okay. The 14th marks 1 month since my Ectomy. Some days I feel pretty good and some days I just want to lay in the recliner. Still on the " Ectomy " diet until I go back on the 24th. This is soft foods, although I talked with the doctor's office and I can now eat " soft " meats, like meatloaf, so long as it's covered in gravy, etc. Everything is going down good, although I still don't have much of an appetite and eating is more of a " chore " instead of fun. Hopefully that will improve with everything else. The incisions don't hurt, just sore, like a bad bruise or sunburn. The one on my right side is more sensitive than the stomach one. Still a little issue with my right lung, that may take awhile to clear up. On good days I've gone to the mall with the family and walked around. I've eaten out some too (baked fish, pasta, etc). Can't finish an entire resturant meal yet. Have to watch some foods, have some " dumping " issues too. The biggest issue now is with the j-tube. It seems to be trying to work its way out of me (or my body is trying to push it out). It " leaks " a discharge around the skin to the point I have to put a bandaid over it or it leaves a spot on my shirt. They told me that I only have to flush it once a day now, since I'm not using it. This is good because it can sometimes be a little tender when that is done. Once my appetite comes back and I can eat well I'll feel fairly normal. Would like to get back to work soon too, cabin fever has really set in (can't drive yet either). Talk to ya'll (I'm in the South) again soon. Mike in VA
