Dear Friends,

This again high lights the need for focused program addressing health care

workers.

What we have learnt from experiences in our organisation is that the way we

could make our hospitals AIDS friendly is through -

1. Focussed inputs - on increasing knowledge, changing attitudes and

practice of health care workers

2. Role modelling by a few health care workers - ?A dedicated AIDS care

team?

3. Cost effective simple infection control systems

Fears are legitimate especilly in the context of poor infection control

facilities avaialble in our health care institutions.

We need to start focussing setting up " AIDS frendly hospitals "
