Internationally, KIT is engaged in multidisciplinary projects. KIT Health provides technical support and advise in a variety of health and health-related fields through short- and long- term consultancy. This support covers the entire range of health programme development, implementation and evaluation, including support to reform processes in the health sector (HSR/SWAp's). Training and operational research are important aspects of the institutional support that KIT Health provides. Apart from Disease Control and Health Systems experts carry out their work within the context of a number of other themes: reproductive health; HIV/AIDS, nutrition; human resource development and biomedical research. In the national Reproductive Health (RH) programme in Nepal the CTA will work as a member of the UNFPA programme team and will assist the Dept. of Health Services and UNFPA with the successful implementation of the 5th Country Programme. KIT Health is seeking a Chief Technical Advisor (CTA) for Reproductive Health ? NEPAL Function description * Assist UNFPA and His Majesty Government, of Nepal (HMG) with the planning, monitoring and evaluation of the national RH programme particularly in the context of decentralization and health reform * Assist HMG with the review of the national RH strategy in line international and national developments and consistent with the health and population policy of HMG, define further critical strategic areas for research and further development * Assist HMG, when and where appropriate, with the further development of policy/operational guidelines and clinical protocols; updating the RH research bibliography, provide technical oversight of the operations research and assist HMG with the further development of the HMIS and Quality Assurance mechanisms * Monitoring of technical aspects of RH programmes in UNFPA supported selected Districts * Facilitate coordination and collaboration with other stakeholders active in the RH programme in order to enhance synergy and complementarity of EDP support for the national RH programme; assist with identification of RH resource requirements, and assist with preparation of requests for multi-bilateral assistance * Represent the UNFPA in different working groups and committees concerning RH particularly in the context of health sector reform and decentralization. * Ensure quality, consistency and synchronicity of UNFPA's RH component project planning and implementation Qualifications * Medical Graduate with minimally a Post-graduate degree in Public Health, Social Science or other relevant field * Minimum 10 years of experience in management of comprehensive Primary Health Care/Reproductive Health Services, Reproductive Health policy formulation and programme planning, monitoring and evaluation at National and sub national level. * Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multi-cultural working environment Remuneration Salary will be in accordance with the KIT salary rates, based on age, qualifications and experience.
