I marked this OT but depending on what a person believes it may be on

topic, not off. Those than may not be interested should feel free to

stop reading.

When it come to the things that happen to us in this life, some seem to

think it is like a game of cards where the cards come to us blowing in

the wind, others think there is a dealer who knows and determines the

cards we receive, while yet others believe they are playing solitaire.

Personally, I believe all three views are true. Time and chance

(different from possibly) happen to us and life is not fair. God does

not play dice, so sit back and try to enjoy the ride. Life like a

backdrop unfolds around the person we have chosen to play on the stage

of life. Some will think I am crazy for believing obviously

contradictory beliefs. I find that deep truths are sometimes best left

as contradictions not rejected or selected between. It would be hard to

understand a photon without understanding particles and waves, but what

is a photon? A photon is a photon. It is hard to understand life

without chance, destiny and choice, but what is it? Life is life. The

truth is not constrained by the metaphors of belief and understanding,

even if we call them science and religion. I probably won't on most

drives give much thought to the pavement of the roads I travel, but I

am sure achalasia is part of the path that brought me here. I don't

know what understanding or revelation, if any, it may have for me, but

I hope I will be open to it if it is there.
