Guest guest
Hi Sandy, How long were you in the hospital and how long was your recovery time after you got out of the hospital? Also, when did you start eating real food again. If you don't mind answering, how old are you? I am 52 and know the recovery period will be longer for me. Guest guest
Hi Sandy, I am 52 and had my oesophagectomy at the end of July last year (coming up to 6 months now). I am really well and eating most things without problems - still get a little tired but when you consider the operation i had everyone thinks i am a walking miracle. So, chin up, you will be fine - expect the first three months to be a bit of a slow time as you regain your strength but really after one month i was pretty good and not taking any medication except the Nexium. The hardest thing to get used to was the 'dumping' (with me it was hot drinks that caused big problems), but that has eased to the point where i hardly have any problems at all. any more questions just ask. Deb from Melbourne Australia. Re: i had etomy Hi Sandy,How long were you in the hospital and how long was your recovery timeafter you got out of the hospital?
