Guest guest
Your stomach post'ectomy is nothing but a conduit to take the place of the esophagus. The 10th cranial nerve the Vagus Nerve it's trunk for the stomach runs right along the right side of the esophagus and is cut during surgery thus stopping acid production and all stomach movement, or so it is suppose to, I am an RN who has not only had one of these done but also taken care of people who had them done. My complications were also present, I had a vocal cord nerve cut, i had an anastomotic leak. I had a post op diverticulum in my anastomosis. I have 3 aspiration pneumonia's from food and I have a J- tube becuse of severe dumping syndrome that still occurs. Joe
