Guest guest
Nick Buddy you are at the right place for info. I've been dealing with Achalasia since I was 14(1993). I've had an open hellermyotomy and a lap hellemyotomy since then, due to the severity of my A. I am one of the ones that has had my E removed this past December. Life has been great since. It feels wonderful to eat again and not have to worry about anything coming back up. If you have any questions feel free to ask away. in KY achalasia From: jmr12667@...Date: Mon, 21 Jan 2008 21:09:02 +0000Subject: Re: 17 year old suffering from achalasia >> hey guys, just found this group and it is great! as my subject says i > am 17 and have achalasia. i go to the hospital in iowa city and they > are going to set a date for me to have surgeory very soon. they said > since i am very young they are going to do the one where they cut the > scar tissue (im not sure what exactly they call it, but it isnt the > balloon one) im not sure if anyone has had this done or has seen > results from it. living with achalasia for a year now has completely > changed my life, i am seriously underweight for my age and can barely > eat anything without having to vomit it out right away. > Anway i am very grateful i have this group for the support.> > cheers!> nick>Nick,Keep your head up and keep up with recent treatments. I ahd achalasia since I was 10. I lost any form of treatment until I was 23 by then it was too late and at 32 i needed to have my esophagus removed. Some MD's think I may have had achalasia as a child but went unnoticedJoe Helping your favorite cause is as easy as instant messaging. You IM, we give. Learn more.
