Guest guest
Hi I am one of the Uk members about the same age as you I live in Northamptonshire. I did have open surgery in September 2006 I was in a similar situation as you before my surgery I weighed just 5 stone 10 when I was admitted into hospital. lap (or key hole) is a lot quicker to get over that the open surgery but sometimes the surgeon has more experience doing an open procedure that key hole. With open surgery you are looking at a longer stay in hospital and a longer recovery time. If you want any more info on what to expect after having open surgery just give us a shout!
