Guest guest
I have just learned about Achalasia this past year, as my sister was very vague about her diagnosis many years ago. Many in the medical profession and others don't quite understand what all of you are enduring. While I was in Pittsburgh and staying at the Family House, a facility for traveling patients and families, I witnessed many ailments and patients in recovery. One such lady was there for a follow-up on her condition. She truly was an inspiration. Somehow a " staph " bacteria had invaded her organs, and she had undergone a tri-transplant. I know we asked her many questions on her condition, as it seemed almost impossible of her medical history. She said she was in surgery for 18 hours. She had had a total digestive transplant, which included an e-ectomy; a pancreas transplant, where she now had two as they had left the old one so the new one would not be rejected. She was full of life and smiled as she was fixing her dinner plate. I can surely see how important it is to seek a medical professional who specializes and researches in these areas. I am also very thankful that a had the help and advice from this group to guide her where she is today. Debra
