Guest guest
The transhiatal esophagectomy is a radical surgery for people whom are not supposed to live another 30-40 years. These complications are just beginning to come out for people who had it done in my case 8 years ago. I had a vagotomy my vagus nerve was cut to stop acid production but God is funny and nature finds a way I had several branches of that nerve that cause acid production. I wake up in the middle of the night with a mouth full of acid. My mouth and throat are burned. I have spit it out and took the finish off my hardwood floor and I burned my finger. This will not happen with everyone. I am an RN with ICU and ER experience. I am thinking about writing about my experiences, with my Doctor's help. I asked my Doctor Raphael Bueno from Brigham and Womens Hospital in Boston to film my surgery but the expense is too much. I believe the have an esophagectomy filmed if interested the Surgery can be seen on Real Player at www.chestsurg.org Joe
