Guest guest
Hi. The first doctor that I spoke with is Dr. Jay Marks at Cedars-Sinai in LA. Kenny saw Dr. Lambroza in New York. Re: My husband was diagnosed with Achalasia today Is this the doctor you are speaking about, he is in New York area. Maybe you are thinking of Mount Sinai? http://www.lambroza .com/ Hi everybody,> > > > I hope this posting finds you all well.> > > > Wow! Recently there has been a warning because some children have die after Botox treatments because it did effect things away from the treatment area. The chance of something like happening seem to be very small. > what if the balloon dilation causes a rupture and then require surgery?? Sometime that leads to a open surgery where they spread open the ribs. The recovery for that would be much slower than for a myotomy but in time should not be a problem. The odds of that happening are small but should be considered. Some ruptures are small enough that they don't require surgery and will heal on their own. Surgery can lead to adhesions. This is where fibrous tissue (scar tissue) grows and joins organs together. Some people are more prone to it than others. The odds are small that it will cause problems but in his case he may want to be very clear with his doctors about anything that could cause problems with the sax. That would include pain and function problem from adhesions. Botox and dilatation have some issues if he ever has a Heller myotomy later on. notan
