Guest guest
Are you describing pain/burning near where you stomach is? Anything with it like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever etc? Could be gastric- ie: ulcer/gastritis, could be your gallbladder - can occur after fatty foods etc. How long does the pain last? Are you having any gas? Just some initial thoughts. Dawn Question about strange burning sensation -4 months post myotomy Can anyone answer:Recently started having strange kind of flashes of burning or flare upsensations above waist, below where E ends. Could it be a form ofheart burn, but does not happen in upper area. Will call Dr. officeabout it, Is it food related, or what? You all always have goodanswers. I was doing so good, can eating certain foods bring it on, ornot enough foods, or??Welcome all answersJoanne Palm Desert

Guest guest
I've been getting that too. I wonder if it is the soft diet or an after effect of the pain meds. Will put that on the post up question list. Guest guest
Thanks for some responses. I have been confused about when, after myotomy, all foods are Ok. Because I am thinking maybe--corn chips, popcorn, crackers have something to do with it, could not resist, after being deprived for so long--but surgery was Nov. 30. U of W was great, but not sure if after 4 months all foods are legal and OK, Anybody know? Guest guest
As I understand it, all foods are legal and OK except (1) any foods that cause you trouble, and (2) foods that cause reflux (chocolate, caffeine, citrus, ketchup, mint, alcohol). At least moderation is needed with those foods. Welcome to all the newbies! Here are some useful links in case you haven't found them yet: http://www.intelihealth.com/IH/ihtIH/WSIHW000/9339/9405.html (Health A to Z - general info on achalasia) http://patients.uptodate.com/topic.asp?file=digestiv/4384 (information for patients with achalasia) http://makeashorterlink.com/?F516268BD (guidelines on treatment of achalasia) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Achalasia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heller_Myotomy and www.onelook.com to look up medical terms. in PA RE: Re: Question about strange burning sensation -4 months post myotomy Thanks for some responses.
