Guest guest
As many of you know, I had an esophagectomy on Jan. 11th and then a 2nd surgery due to complications on Jan. 19th. When I came back to the group I really didn't have the energy to go back to past posts I had missed and I was somewhat traumatized by my complications - it's still very hard for me to talk about it or think about what happened. Needless to say, I do NOT recommend waking up on a ventilator if you can avoid it - not fun physically or emotionally. Anyway, I was kind of twiddling my thumbs at work the other day and went to some of the past posts to 'catch up' and I was so moved by all of the wonderful thoughts and prayers that you all sent to me. I also felt bad scaring everyone like that. It's 'good' in a way that at least a few of us have some complications so we don't get too rosy a view of such a serious surgery but I remember how much I freaked when was re-hospitalized after his bout with MRSA and I am sorry to have done that to anyone else (Isabella and specifically). Mostly though, I was just touched by all of the care and concern and love that was there. this group is just such a part of my life and I love you all and just.. Thanks!! - in NC Long surgery and serious complications *BUT* now achalasia free since Jan. 11th!!

Guest guest
Hi, , I am so glad to hear that you are much better now. What an ordeal! Man-oh-man! Your post is one of success, and a success after considerable medical trouble; it's great to hear you move forward, even though this stuff and the memories of it do not disappear altogether. I'm glad you posted. I'm very glad you are getting better! Deborah
