Guest guest
Thank you so much for all of your messages, definitely feel less alone now. I was just reading all of your responses to Alanna, and she was pleased to receive so much advice. If you have any more keep it coming, we can use all the help we can get!! It definitely helped to hear all of the advice on the foamy mucous and the dry crunchy things, she has been eating Funyuns, (not sure if I have that spelling right) it has been about to give me a panic attack everytime I see her eat them, whenever I read her all your responses she said " see mom I told you they are easier to eat than some other things " . Now to the manometry--- the technician said she had no normal waves of peristalsis, the whole length of the esophagus tightened or spasmed at the same time but the pressure did drop slightly at the sphincter. She also said her esophagus never relaxed completely there was constant little spasms going on between the big spasm that occurred with all her swallows. She said the abscence of waves of peristalsis was consistent with achalasia but usually the sphincter pressure was high as well, and she said it was unusual that her esophagus never would relax completely. Still waiting to hear back from the doctor. In regards to the results of the manometry, does any of this sound familiar to to any of you?
