Guest guest
Hi, I'm new to the group and have some questions. I was diagnosed with achalasia after manometry, barium swallowing studies, CT scan, and endoscopy. My first symptoms started 2 years ago and were thought to be reflux. I live in central Arkansas. I am scheduled to have a consultation with Dr. DeLoach in North Little Rock about my treatment options in early April. I'm planning on getting a second opinion. Has anyone heard of this thorasic surgeon on this list? My swallowing symptoms are not too bad yet compared to what some folks describe on the list, but I've had a lot of problems with chest pains. One question I have is it seems like most folks recommend having a heller's myotomy before the diseases progresses very far. Is that correct? There seems to be a lot of folks on the list that like Cleveland Clinic or Mayo Clinic. Are there other specialists closer to Little Rock that folks recommend, say near Memphis or Dallas? Thanks for any replies, Jeff
