Guest guest
Vinnie from Wisconsin here (formally from BKLYN), I am 2 years removed from my hellers with a fundo wrap. My swallowing is pretty steady. I eat pretty much whatever I want, but it usually takes some water to get it down. My GI guy did a 2 year follow up this week and wants to do an endoscopy. He said he just wants to err on the side of caution and he wants to make sure their is no inflamation, that the wrap is still tight, and may take a biopsy. Has anyone ever experienced or heard of something similar happening as a precaution 2 years out of surgery? Freaking out a little: Vinnie You rock. That's why Blockbuster's offering you one month of Blockbuster Total Access, No Cost.
Guest guest
Hey Vinnie- I wouldnt get too freaked out. Some surgeons do like to do diffrent things to monitor there patients. My sons DR wants him back every few years for barrium, manometry and scope.Better safe than not I guess. It varies amongst DRs Glad your doing well : ) Tonia > > Vinnie from Wisconsin here (formally from BKLYN), > > I am 2 years removed from my hellers with a fundo wrap. Guest guest
Hi Vinne, I have had a scope done every year since my Heller. However, I'm now told I can wait 2 years before the next one. If my doctor sees irritation he takes a biopsy just to be sure it isn't anything serious. So far (knock on wood) the biopsies have shown nothing terrible. Guest guest
Dear Vinnie, It is always good to hear from you, and I am very pleased to know that you are doing so well. What exactly are you freaking out about? Is it the test itself or the fact that it was suggested? If it is the endoscopy I can empathise with you, because I hate them, but if it just that you have been for a scheduled 2 year check up and he has said he would like to do this test I think it is merely because he cares about your welfare and wants to be pro-active for you. I honestly do not think you have anything to be alarmed about and think that it is highly uinlikely anything will be amiss, So relax, my Friend. This is all good.
