And different food...This will be our 13th year and still growing... This is the show that one of my daughters and I are the lye soap ladies...We will have the iron pot, in fact I get to take my Grandmother's soap pot, and everything else... We all dress like they did in the late 1800's and have a great time... I know, as I've been there myself recently. About a year ago I was deciding whether to go for a new type of myotomy (offered in Germany, but in my opinion not the way to choose), or an esophagectomy (also called -ectomy here on the board, meaning removal of the esophagus) after 2 earlier myotomies (one in 1995 and one January 2007), many dilatations and even botox. I chose the -ectomy. Tomorrow it is exactly two months ago I had my -ectomy done and though it has been a very rough ride, with complications, I'ld do it all over again. I am the same age as you are, I am a 34 year old married woman and mother of 2. Having my boys is the thing that made me doubt whether I was able to go for it. On the other hand my wish to be a healthy, strong and energetic mother was the definitive reason to go for it. What's best for you is up to you to decide, together with your doctors, family and if you want us to help together with this board as well. Weigh the options you have: can you go on the way you live right now; do you want things to change; can you wait; etc. etc. You are not alone, there are many -ectomy achalasians here on the board.
