Subject: OT- update

Hi everyone,

Well had another seizure yesterday and was admitted to

Children's LA. He had been role playing " Seizure " with his Big Bird

all week long and yesterday he told my daughter that he was going to

have one and he was afraid to take a nap. She laid with him and

watched over him and when he woke up, sure enough, he had the seizure.

She has been having problems getting the insurance to approve UCLA

because Blue Cross says they are too expensive and have been removed

for the preferred hospital list so now they are considered out of

network. My daughter doesn't like the way is cared for at

Children's so she asked for him to be transferred to UCLA anyway. They

told her it wasn't possible and at best he might get into emergency

but 15 minutes later there was a room waiting for him at UCLA!

Dr Lazareff is great! We found out today that he is the one

responsible for getting everything approved and getting him admitted.

Now is scheduled for his MRI today or tomorrow and probably

surgery to follow sometime this week.

I am heading down tomorrow and will keep everyone informed as I can.

There is a medical library with computers that I found there and have

always been able to use them in the past.

-, I am going to need to cancel our plans for Saturday but we

will get together another time soon!

-Sandy, maybe you could come visit if you get a chance?? I think I

will be there through the weekend. Let me know, it would be wonderful

to see you! My cellphone is 925 550-0488

Take care everyone...please keep in your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks everyone--

Yes he is an amazing little guy. I have always felt that he has a

little something extra sensory going on in his mind....not just me but

most people sense this about him. He went in for his MRI about an hour

ago. It was necessary to give him general anesthesia to keep him still

for the procedure and he went in screaming. Hopefully he will be calm

and sedate when he comes out so he won't be so scared. He acts so

grown-up sometimes and has such a deep understanding of what is going

on around him but he is still not quite 3 years old!

He is in wonderful hands...I wish I could get down there today because

he is waiting for me and knows I am coming to see him...I feel like I

can't get there soon enough!

Will keep you updated....
