Guest guest
Hi all, Just wanted to let you know that is doing better today. Earlier today I rang her and she sounded very positive. She's allowed to go home tomorrow! It seems that was developing pneumonia already before or just at the time she went in for surgery. She hadn't been feeling good before going in already and food got in her lungs, thus causing her pneumonia. Furthermore like Astrid wrote she had a small perforation during surgery, but it has been repaired by the surgeon. The tissue the surgeon had to cut through wasn't scar tissue built up because of earlier dilatation, it was muscle tissue. This tissue built itself up, because of the "exercise" it got over the years, which is common in achalasians too. is tube free now and has eaten her first little bit of solids today. She stays on a carefull diet though for the next period of course. She said the food went down!!! She is a pretty tough lady, eh, going through such surgery when also going through pneumonia at the same time, to then recover so marvelously! I'm looking forward to 's first post! Love, Isabella
