Guest guest
I'm fighting my way back from a lousy start too. I had an awesome first week and then completely lost it in week 2, well, lost control and gained back the weight i had lost in week 1. ughhhh! I decided to just keep on keeping on, so its week 3 and i'm still pretty disappointed in the fact that i screwed up my 4 week stats. But, live and learn. I've also turned into a weigh and measure queen lol I use vivonic on my pda and I've been consistent all week with my eating and workouts. Dh is even out bench shopping for me today. His high school bench just isn't cutting it. lol Finally left the land of denial and admitted that i need to plan, plan and plan some more. lol 's menu rescue really helped! http://skwigg.tripod.com/wow/id33.html Chris C1W3D18 Back in the saddle Okay- after wasting the first three weeks messing around (not really paying attention to portions, not giving my exercise a real hard hit), I am going at it this week with new attitude. (Maybe it was my ex telling me that I'm getting fat!) I have been religiously tracking in fitday (LOVE IT). I even put in the unauthorized Mcs french fries that I snuck from my kids happy meal, and was still okay with calories. (fat was bad, I'll try and make it up today). My legs are sore from LBWO yesterday and so I am officially calling Monday my first day. I am definitely a lurker and read almost every post- I'll try and be more vocal. Thanks for all the good advice I've been getting here- BTW, got my detour bars yesterday and had 1/2. Felt like I was cheating they were so good! Guest guest
Dear Jim, Glad to hear you're back in action. You were missed, my friend... By the way, eat a bunch of fresh garlic. And some chicken soup! Best of Health! Thanks for the suggestion. I always have tee tea oil handy. What ticks me off is I thought of this several weeks ago. Life's events just sweep many things under the rug. Just now I smelled it out of the bottle & could breathe easier immediately. I rubbed a drop on my temporary mustache. I'm going to wedge a piece of kleenex in the fan and put a few drops on. do the room. Thanks for the reminder, jim jill1313 wrote: And the CS may work but I also have another effective solution. Get a high quality teatree oil (have your son get it) and have him boil about 1/2 inch of water. When it reaches boiling point have him bring it in, and put about 5-10 drops of teatree oil in and inhale the steam deeply just a few times. Do that about 3x day. It kills everything. It has prevented ear infections and bronchitis for me whenever I felt them coming on. It works for everybody I suggest try it. Teatreei s santifungal antibacterial and antiviral. _________________________________________________________________ The new MSN 8: smart spam protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail
Guest guest
An interesting suggest. I will use it in the next batch of chicken broth and rice I make. Guest guest
Joe is back in the saddle, sort of, after my open esophagectomy 8 year ago it has been one complication after another, I receently had a roux-en-y to divert acid and bile lower into my intestine. Then 12 days I had a heart attack during my hospital stay and sroke that has left my right side weak, I have given up my nursing license and am now on disability full time. My heart needed to be defib three times during one episode. WHen I had my stroke, I choked on pudding My wife was posting when I was on a vent, my trach has been closed and I am breathing on my own now. I rely on tube feedings. The worst thing was 10 days post op due to a mistake, all pain meds were stopped except tyelenol. Imagine being cut from breast bone to just below umbilicus with nothing to stop the pain. I am glad to be alive, I saw my headstone my wife bought when things were touch and go, my name with 1967- wtih no date looks good God bless all of you Joe

Guest guest
I had to laugh, because I haven't ever heard of anyone buying a tombstone first, maybe a funeral plan, but the tombstone? She was so very worried, so it isn't totally surprising. Where do you keep the tombstone? In the garage? Doesn't it take a while to carve, didn't it arrive after you were home? Great thing to bring out for Halloween, if you can find any humor in it. Not sure what I would say to my husband if he bought a tombstone while I was in the hospital. Depends on what was carved on it besides the date. It just kind of cracks me up in a black humor way to think of a tombstone waiting for you. Not sure about you, but I can thing of doing some things to that tombstone during the heat of a spousal argument, like carving their name in it too or something. My grandmother used to always tell us there was a sealed envelope on the refrigerator with her paid funeral and arrangements all detailed, It was, she died 25 years later, kept changing her plans, but it was ready to go when needed. Great to hear from you, let us know how you are doing. It is sooo wonderful to see you back here. You may not notice, but your emails sound stronger each time. But write us anyway you can. hmmm, back to the tombstone (finding it fascinating) I'm no writer, but doesn't that little tidbit have to show up in a tv show or movie somewhere, very original. Law and Order for the serious side, of course Grey's Anatomy, along with the whole achalasia thing, or some other sitcom. Maybe for father's day I should get my husband one, then write "First Husband of Sandy" on it? (you all know I'd never break in another husband, this one is not obedient enough) Sandy >> Joe is back in the saddle, sort of, after my open esophagectomy 8 > year ago it has been one complication after another, I receently had > a roux-en-y to divert acid and bile lower into my intestine. Guest guest
Hi Joe, I know you don't know me. I usually just read the posts that come to my mailbox and normally find myself in total fear over what I read. But that is another story. But I will say that the support this group offers is amazing. After reading your post I felt a real need to tell you that I can't even imagine the pain and suffering you have been through. What you described is unbelievable! I am so glad you showed everyone how tough you really are. You must have had an angel watching over you. I just hope and pray that you will heal quickly and regain your strength soon. I hope to read in the near future another post about your amazing recovery.
