What doctor to go too

Hi,

After 3 trips to the emergency room, the doctor finally diagnosed my

husband with achalasia. The onset seems to coincide with his treatment

for oral cancer, in which his vagus nerve was cut and he had a more

than normal amount of radiation, which killed his taste buds and his

teeth. He is now cancer free. The ER gastro-enterologist said he

didn't know what to do, as my husband has much scar tissue from an

extreme hiatal hernia operation.

I saw on the achalasia website that in Florida, the doctor to see is

Dr. Boyce in Tampa. Is anyone here familiar with his work? I read

here that many of you have been to Dr. Rice in Cleveland? I am willing

to travel to make sure he sees the best doctor for this. I am tired of

his being misdiagnosed, undiagnosed, and receiving flawed treatments

for his various health problems.

Suggestions, please.

Thanks,

R
