Guest guest
Hey everyone -- I just found out about this and wanted to give everyone a heads-up: Scheduled Site Maintenance On April 2, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM PST, we will be conducting emergency planned maintenance on the Groups site. During this time, some groups will become unavailable for up to 30 minutes. Mail to some groups may also be delayed for up to 60 minutes. Thanks, Team I have no clue what constitutes a " planned emergency " (?????), but at least we have advance notice that the group/emails might be unavailable or delayed today. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Also, I noticed someone mentioned the volume of emails they are getting. This subject comes up from time to time, so I thought I'd repost this information which is part of the " Welcome to the Achalasia Group " email that gets sent to new members: The following information from the welcome letter has directions to edit your own membership. You may change to either " no mail " or " digest " mode to reduce the number of messages received: In order to post to the group, you need to first " join " the group, which requires that you have a free identity (screen name.) When you join the group, will by default assign your email address (your-screen-name@...) to receive all the group messages individually via email. You can change your email settings at any time by using the " Edit My Membership " link on the upper right side of any webpage. You may change the email address to any other address you may have (which requires you to " verify " the address [prove that it really exists and that you really want to receive the messages there] by replying to an email that will send to the alternate address.) [Please be aware that any address you use to post to the group will be visible via the internet to the public and to other group members via email.] You can also change the frequency with which you receive emails: " Individual Emails " means that each time someone posts to the group via website or email, you will receive an email containing that post. " Daily Digest " means that the day's posts will accumulate into one big email, with one message listed after another. At the end of the day (or more often if there are more than 25 messages in any given day), will send this one long email to your inbox. " No Email " means just what it says -- no emails will be sent to you, and you will have to read each message on the website's " Messages " page. I hope this info is helpful!Debbi in Michigan
