13 months post Heller Myotomy

13 months after my husband's Heller Myotomy and he's having more and

more difficulties swallowing everyday. Yes, it's better than last

year, but the surgery FAILED.

How many have had " failed " Heller Myotomies?

Nevertheless, Dr. Richter said another surgery will be necessary and

not to fault him or Dempsey (we feel we just have the unlucky card),

but we're going to consult with Dr. Rice to do this surgery. It will

be an open surgery and several weeks in recovery (from what we

understand at this point).

I guess I don't have any other questions right now - just trying to get

through the depression/shock of yet another surgery.....and a big one

at that....scares me to death (and him too).
