Guest guest
I forgot who posted these questions but here are my personal experiences - for what they are worth Soda - I also could not drink it over about the past 8-10 years. I envied the people that could use it to swallow or get rid of spasms but not for me. Beer was not a problem though - go figure - different kind of carbonation. Spasms - the last 2 years or so I started a low dose of amitryptaline daily and that helped to reduce the number and severity of spasms. While having a spasm, I used niphedipine or nitro a while years ago but found that they lowered my blood pressure too much - sent me into shock twice! If I had spasms at night, I would use an ativan but you can't really take it during the day. As said, prevention is the best - chug some water or eat some crackers as SOON as you feel one coming on - the quicker you catch it - the easier it is to get rid of. Hope that helps someone - in NC
