Guest guest
Hello all...I'm very reluctant to post since you all are experts & I'm still waiting for a diagnosis after 3 years of suffering. If what I say has already been tried, please ignore. I'm starving, have lost 45 lbs & can only get liquids down. I bought some NOW brand SUPER enzymes which include protease, the enzyme that allows us to digest casein protein in dairy products. I also take one separate lactase enzyme with the SUPER. I can have a milkshake each morning, a lifesaver. I use 2 raw egg yolks, beat them into 1 cup heavy whipping cream & half a cup of half & half. The higher the fat content in dairy, the lower the sugar. I take the SUPER & lactase enzyme just before drinking the shake. The enzymes can be mashed & mixed into a shake. I started with 2 Super's but was able to digest dairy with just one. Best to all, Susie
Guest guest
Hi Susie, Thank you for posting this. I Googled what you mentioned and found out it's some kind of supplement especially used in sports? Indeed I've been told before by friends of mine, that it would be a good alternative for me (haven't tried it yet though...). As for feeling reluctant to post here: you really shouldn't feel that way. We're no experts at all, some of us just have more experience than others, but we're all here to get help, to give help, to learn and to give information. If you ever feel like posting, please do so, you're very welcome. Isabella tolerating dairy / Isabella ? Guest guest
Isabella, I should mention I've researched for 2 years, trying to beat an overgrowth of yeast in my intestines. The NOW brand I take is just a digestive enzyme, something our bodies manufacture unless the intestines are compromised by yeast, toxins or poor nutrition. I tried simple papaya digestive enzymers first, had good luck, but went with the SUPER's because they're 5 times more potent than papaya. Now I can also eat/drink pureed stewed chicken. Thank you for welcoming me to post ! Best, Susie > > Hi Susie, > Thank you for posting this. I Googled what you mentioned and found out it's some kind of supplement especially used in sports? Guest guest
Hi Susie, I truly appreciated your post! I had my esophagectomy on October 1st, 2007. I am doing fantastic but I can't tolerate dairy as it results in dumping syndrome. I'm going to try your idea and see if it works for me! (I miss my dairy and sugar) Isabella, , . . . I think of you all daily and can't wait to hear that you are doing better. I truly feel guilty that my surgery went so well and you are still suffering. I am even jogging 7 km daily to the beach and back and have no follow-up appointments with Dr. Gehman. I didn't have any issues with scar tissue in any way. Just the luck of the draw, I guess. Any way, I know once the scar tissue situation is over, you'll all be doing great too.
