Try to reduce foods that sit worse than others, but most importantly don't let them be coughed up and go into your lungs over night, that is what is causing your problem. I had chronic bronchitis (not non-stop, but every six weeks or so) for the last three years before my op, regurgitation at night time will bring on infections for sure! Also go see your doctor in case you already have an infection and get antibiotics to clear it up. (BTW - it might only feel like 30 mins, but it's probably sitting there for hours, but just less so, i thought I was managing mine okay by shoving down a couple of pints of water after eating - although often the whole thing would come back up - but I was actually making the problem worse by stretching my gullet which made is FEEL like the problem was less but actually just meant that I had made the condition more comfortable - but more dangerous at the same time). Good luck, Hannah
