It was not pleasant, that's for sure but mine took 8 and a half hours as there were some complications but that's kind of normal for me. I'm always just a little off the beaten path. I felt pretty bad for about a week, but then I got better fast. If you are not all that overweight you should do fine. The worst part is trying to figure out what to eat because the two operations are so contradictive to each other. The one diet says don't eat fat and sugar and the other says have whatever you want, well if it's blended. Most of the things you can eat are cold and you miss hot food. Getting enough protein is a job, they say you need 60 grams and that's hard to get. Protein powder is the way but it get old quick. That lasts for three weeks and then soft food, yeah!! that's where I am now and things are looking up big time. Baked chicken, baked fish, and cheese oh my. My incisions are minimal and have not bothered me at all. I have 6 and they're pink and cute. did i mention I tend to be optomistic. Walking is hard but mandatory, it get's easier, so they say. Anyway, any questions just ask, I've been gone for a while but should be here now. My surgery was in seattle where are you? I remember you but can't remember that. I've had stuff on my mind lol. I hope everything goes great and I'll pray for you. You should be well on the road to recovery by now ... I am scheduled for surgery on December 16th (both Heller's Myotomy and Gastric Bypass). Interestingly enough my bypass is not for weight as I am only slightly overweight (lost most of my weight just because of the A!). My doctor told me that bypass was originally developed for people who had bad GERD (which I apparently have) and the bypass is simply to prevent GERD and keep my Barrett's from progressing any further. Anyway, was thinking about you as I get closer to surgery and wondering how you were! -- > > > > Hi everbody, > > I am leaving on sunday for seattle for my surgery.
