Guest guest
O my god, The Holy Grail of drugs, the FDA. it makes a decision, it must be right. Just like releasing Vioxx-type drugs on the market, and then taking them off for their adverse, sometimes deadly, side-effects. That was entirely within the FDA'S scope of powers. And look at the consequences. We must realize that we cannot live without the FDA. It is our governmental mother, who will tell us what is good and bad. Its decisions are beyond reproach. We must not question. We must obey. They tax, and we must pay. And if the going gets tough, bring in the DEA with its invincible police powers to enforce things. They're not accountable to anyone. That makes you feel really safe, doesn't it? I feel so much better about the FDA requiring " safety measures " for oral sodium products. Without their diligence, we American citizens would be awash in horribly tainted substances. And folks, with them, we HAVE a corrupt system of pharmacology-totalitarianism. > > From: U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) <fda@...> > Subject: FDA Requires New Safety Measures for Oral Sodium Phosphate Products to Reduce Risk of Acute Kidney Injury > wooleeacre@... > Date: Thursday, December 11, 2008, 12:08 PM > > > > > > > #yiv428251103 { > font-size:12px;font-family:arial, verdana, sans-serif;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;} > > #yiv428251103 .physicalAddress { > color:gray;font-size:10px;font-family:arial, verdana, sans-serif;font-weight:100;} > > > > > FDA Requires New Safety Measures for Oral Sodium Phosphate Products to Reduce Risk of Acute Kidney Injury > Thu, 11 Dec 2008 13:32:00 -0600 > > Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced that it will add a Boxed Warning to the prescription oral sodium phosphate products Visicol and OsmoPrep to warn consumers about the risk of acute phosphate nephropathy (a type of acute kidney injury). Patients routinely take OSP products to cleanse the bowel before a colonoscopy (colon examination) and other medical procedures. > > > > > > > >
