Guest guest
For those advocating non treatment, just for the sake of ignoring the obvious. Hmmm, let's see. It is a choice of struggling, not eating, eating mush, or taking the chance on the medical system and very likely eating. So what if a doctor and a hospital and technicians make some $$$. You can eat. The odds are you will eat well for a long time. I frankly don't get it. There may be a few that continue to struggle, but they are in the great minority. I see the medical shows when the patient shows up with a 150 tumor growing outside their body. Surgery is very risky and death is near. Everyone wonders why they let it go. Same with achalasia. The earlier treated, the more likely there is success. Maybe that tumor could have been removed with a few snips and stitches. Not meaning to start some huge discussion, just my view. Speaking as someone from both sides of surgery. Eating and not eating. Drinking and not drinking. Not rocket science to make that decision. There are other achalasia groups in that use supplements etc. Unproven, but they are happy for new members and have regular discussions about their success, or lack of. Wonder how much those supplement companies make off their snake oil? Sandy
