Guest guest
hey Ginny- Yea for you!! It's so exciting isn't it? I've had to have several post op dilations and I wouldn't be surprised, I was even told this by my surgeon, to need one every year or couple of years - a 'tune up' if you will. in my mind, it's a small price to pay for the improvement in my life. it is so exciting to eat everything again. I've even had raw carrots! I just chew them REALLY well and load them with dressing. I do take pills but only little ones. Thankfully, Prilosec comes in a generic capsule now so it's easy and I take a chewable multi-vitamin daily. I'm echoing what said about the weight. I lost about 28 pounds in the first 2-3 months after surgery (I was 20 overweight) and then I was continuously losing about 1 lb a month. I got down to about 109 - even at 5' 3 " that's too scrawny. Then, rather suddenly, I've put on about 6 pounds in the last 2 months so now I need to slow my eating down a bit. I'm right at 115 which is my ideal weight. Thin, but not scrawny and I feel really good. I'm able to drink coffee again every day. I forgot how much I like it! The only thing I found that was not good, even in small quantity is OJ. I may try again as it's been a few months since I tried last time but it did stay with me all day. Kind of burning, uncomfortable in the upper end and then gave me some dumping also. Not the end of the world though, I was never a big OJ fan anyway. I'm so glad to hear you are doing so well. and I'm so glad that we have each other to share these kind of joys.
