Guest guest
, The surgery I was referri g to was the surgery to repair the bulging disc in my neck, but I did have three dialations back about ten years ago. The dialations worked at first but didn't last long. I was just checking in to see if any new treatments have been discovered or any new tricks that anyone has learned to help cope with achalasia. Thanks, Don in Arkansas > > > > I am a long time survivor of achalasia. I just recently had surgery > > for a bulging disc in my neck and now I am having more trouble with the > > achalasia. Guest guest
Hi Don, I had so many dilations, I lost track and also two Botox procedures. I had far too many dilations--my doctor at The Cleveland Clinic said two were enough and to never do Botox. By the time I got to him in 2004 and had the lap heller myotomy, he told me it probably would not last but a short time. It didn't and I had an transhiatal esophagectomy in February and I am doing great. Don't make the same mistake I did by having far too many dilations. Find yourself an experienced GI and thoracic surgeon and have the lap heller. With only 3 dilations, you are probably a very good candidate. InVa. > > > > > > I am a long time survivor of achalasia.
