Hi, I have been lurking on this site for a while.

The information posted here helped me make my mind to go straight

for a Laparoscopic Heller's myotomy rather than start with

dilatations.

This surgery was performed on me nine days ago at Wrexham Maellor

Hospital, Wrexham , North Wales, UK, by Dr Baker and his team.

So far I have not had any problems swallowing soft food.

I have had severe pain in my chest rising to the top of my mouth even

making my teeth and jaw ache:( this has happened twice)it also makes

me feel nauseous for a couple of minutes. I have put this down to

trapped wind in my stomach but could it be the dreaded spasms you all

talk about ?

The only pain I had before surgery was a much milder chest pain that

also made my teeth hurt and would only happen when I was asleep at

night, after burping/belching a few times this pain would go, I put

it down to trapped wind at the time?

I can no longer belch as I used to before surgery, therefor the pain

lasts much longer leaving me with stomach ache after it has subsided.

Whilst being bored I have been trying to find some more info about

the operation and came across some video clips on YouTube-

A laparoscopic Heller's Myotomy with Dor fundoplication for

Achalasia. Donovan 31/5/07.

Northwestern Memorial Hospital Chicago at 3 pm central time US, on

Tuesday December the 2nd 2008.
