Subject : Violence against Sex Workers in Kolkata.

Madams,

Every time there is violence against some women it shocks us. Yet when

it happens in the presence of the defenders of laws and the

protectors of lives and properties, it is beyond our tolerance. The

values loaded into our constitution makes no sense when the system of

administration fails.

Despite FIR, despite being eye-witnesses themselves, the police is not

taking any action in the Sonagachi violence cases. Therefore, it is

imperative that your offices look into it. Both the criminals and the

inert police system have to be brought to books.

We also appeal to your offices, as being the ones dealing with the

women's issues, to intervene and deliver justice to the sisters of

Sonagachi.
