Guest guest
My son is twenty-six months and has mild hypotonia. He started EI at 14 months for communication skills. Speech therapy started about four months ago. He definately has low tone in the mouth. He drools alot and stuffs his mouth. He hasn't had any other feeding issues. Since starting speech therapy he is doing very well. He has about fifty words and is starting to put two words together. His therapist who was sure it was Apraxia is now saying she might have been wrong. I don't care about the diagnosis. I just want to get therapy and see improvement. Whether it be Apraxia or not. My question is " Can you have low tone in your mouth and not be Apraxic? " . I was always under the impression that the two went together. Thanks in advance.
