Guest guest
Did anyone else catch the show that was mentioned last night? CNN Lou Dobbs I think it was, did a segment on lyme disease, I stayed up to listen to it. They didn't say too much, other that the numbers are increasing, which CDC is reluctant to admit. The symtoms are rashes, fevers and joint pains. Didn't even address treatment. Was brief but interesting. Marcia

I'm sure I've either seen that show before, or they had one or two of the same people I've seen on other shows about OCD. I definitely remember the young gal who had a problem with perfectionism in college (folding clothes, etc) It was a great show! I'm somewhat split on having my dd watch these shows. Part of me thinks it would be a good idea, but on the other hand - I think she might stress out too much if she hears things like how it will never go away, she'll always have it, etc.... seeing people in their adult lives having problems with it since their childhood, etc. It's not that she doesn't know it doesn't go away - we've had that discussion before. I just think it's something she'd rather not dwell on or have that fact continually reinforced, etc. Does any of that make sense? LT

Guest guest
I have that feature on my tv to tape it and did. When I get a chance I will go back and watch the whole thing. I am the one that posted that it was on and I caught the last 30 minutes. She did a feature on a lady that struggled with hoarding, one on a girl who had it all, top of her class, etc. and then her senior year the OCD started with severe perfessionist and she got where it would take 3 hours to make her bed because she didn't want rinkles. They showed her in a residential getting help in NY. Last segment was about a mom that had horrible thoughts of killing her baby. What I saw would be a neat thing to show family and others that don't understand how the mind works with OCD. It helped me who doesn't have it understand my son and husband a little better. I wonder if there is a way to order that if you wanted it. _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of kidsnpets Sent: Monday, September 04, 2006 9:59 PM Subject: Re: CNN Show i read your email, ran to the tv, and saw the last few seconds of it. darn it! anyone see it? sharon CNN Show Its 8:30 Monday night and CNN is doing a special on all types of OCD. Guest guest
Makes sense. I dont think I would have my dd watch anything like that, but she is only 5. I think she would start obcessing about things the people on the program do! Sharon Re: CNN Show In a message dated 9/5/2006 12:08:44 A.M. Guest guest
I think a show like this is better for those that don't understand then for our children themselves. I have a copy saved on my tv and would love to have some family members watch so maybe they can understand somewhat of what my son is going through. _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of jtlt@...
