Guest guest
This year, I finally found a Dr. who would give me thyroid. Everytime I went to a new md for the past 20 years they would test me for thyroid because my history made it obvious that I had low thyroid. The tests always came back in the " normal " range. This guy just gave me the thyroid. I take the Armour thyroid. I hadnt done any prior reading on thyroid because I was sure that wasnt my problem and I was pretty angry when I finally did. I've been very very cold sensitive for the past 25 years. I just took a quick look at the 's syndrome page. 's is the one where you have abnormal thyroid metabolism even though the blood level's look ok. Its known to be associated with stress and in 1973, I had a year of great stress emotionally and I was also anorexic. Low thyroid is known to be associated with fibromyalgia. Screaming To Be Heard is a good book about the misdiagnosis of endocrine problems in women but I think the chapter on thyroid would be instructive for men too. Its been a while since I read it. Its very important to get a good doctor when dealing with thyroid problems. The thyroid has made a difference in my cold tolerance but it has not cured my CFIDS. I'm going to get a blood test soon to check if the level is correct for me. Beverly
