Hi

I would like to thank for the information on her experience with

ritalin and also ask about damage to optic nerve and not taking medications

which affect the blood vessels- I also have damaged optic nerves and am

being followed for possible progresion of low tension glaucoma but I have

not found a medical professional who seems to know anything about the

treatments and mechanisms you have referred toi in other posts. I have

several questions regarding symptoms and would be like to correspond

backchannel if you are wllling and if this is not an area of general

interest.

Also, I would like to mention that although I have many visual disturbance

problems (with exaggerated contrast, perhaps depth perception, difficulty

organizing patterns and excessive stimuli ect), apparently none of these

symptoms are part of the profile of low tension glaucoma-I only learned by

accident that I have low tension glaucoma-and have since learned that it is

much more prevalent world wide than previously suspected- the present model

gives few if any obvious symptoms but if it progresses it can lead to

blindness. Im mentioning this because I do strongly suspect a connection

between the optic nerve damage and CFIDS and think it would be a reasonable

precaution to make sure this is checked for during regular eye exams.

Regards,

All of these visual problems are documented as CFS symptoms in the

Nighinggale book.... and are reported to occur with altitude sickness

too,.... thus they are probably caused by low oxygen levels reaching the

optical nerves or processing center....
