Guest guest
Hello, my name is Neisha D'Souza. I am an undergraduate at Tulane University and will be traveling to India in July for a year's time. I will devote this year to helping various NGOs (or any group that needs help) in their struggle to prevent and treat AIDS. I am very new to the details of the pandemic, and do not know what I am qualified to do. I will begin volunteering in AIDS counseling centers, here in New Orleans within the month. I am reading as much as I can outside of school. I will graduate with a degree in Neuroscience come May- therefore, science and medicine are topics that I am familiar with and capable of tackling. I am currently trying to win a $25,000 fellowship that would fund my trip, the rest of which I would donate towards materials and resources. Please give me some advice as to what an extremely serious, thick- stomached, and willful girl of 21 can do. What is appropriate, how may I best prepare myself for what I will see in India? If anything, I need to know what to fill my suitcases with- what supplies should I carry with me to Mumbai? I plan to spend time in or around Mumbai, Goa, and New Delhi. I know this is very brief and vague, but I have to start somewhere. Thank you, Neisha D'Souza E-mail: neishi22@...> ___________________________
