The center is close to completing a study of a

dietary supplement

called Ambrotose, which

contains complex

sugars derived from the Aloe Vera

plant. This is a

placebo controlled trial, which means

that participants

may receive a sugar pill that has no

therapeutic benefit

or the actual dietary supplement.

Gathering results

from patients taking Ambrotose and

comparing those with

the results of patients taking

sugar pills allows

us to determine exactly what effect

the food supplement

has on the symptoms associated

with CFS. The

company that manufactures the

supplement has heard

many self-reports from CFS

patients claiming

that the supplement helped to relieve

pain and fatigue.

To date, a

total of 35 CFS patients have

participated in this

study. Several more are needed

before data analysis

can be performed. If you are

interested in this

study, please call us at

973-676-7063.
