Guest guest
Hello all, I have recently been re-reading a book " Nature's Anitbiotic Olive Leaf Extract " by DR. Morton . One thing that is mentioned is the fact that the Upjohn Company was researching the antimicrobial property of OLE (calcium elenolate) back in the 1970's. They found that the calcium elenolate bound to proteins in the blood serum and was thus rendered ineffective, so they decided to stop their research. The book claims that only one method of manufacture exists presently (the book was written in 1995 or so) that is truly therapeutic. They say that in 1995 a proprietary process was developed to get beyond the serum binding problem. I am pretty sure that they are referring to the East Park product. I looked into this product at the website www.eastpark.com and the product is said to contain 38% Oleuropein. It is sold in bottles of 60 caps for $26.95. I could not find anything on the site about the mgs. If this is true, then my guess is that all products would have effects on the gastrointestinal system, but only certain products would be effective systemically. Any other thoughts on this? I have never taken the East Park product, so I don't have any experience to add to this. I will add that a few years ago I took the antifungal drug Lamisil for a nasty toenail fungus and the drug worked very well with no side effects. As far as conventional antifungals are concerned, this seems to be one of the safest and it works very well. Toenail fungus is one of the hardest fungal infections to erradicate. The drug was approved to be give systemically only a few years ago. Also, I had been taking Immunocal for the past 7 months and this week started Immunopro for comparison. Will keep you posted on the results. - O.
