Guest guest
According to the > conversion chart I possess, 48 USP units equals one DU unit So if I want to do the conversion the other way, is it correct to say Zyme Prime has 576,000 USP of amylase? That's a lot of amylase, isn't it? I sure wish the enzyme industry would just pick a standard! I know, most places don't. Mike (husband and food tech marketing guy) says that companies do that on purpose so you can't compare their products to another company's products. It is a fairly common marketing technique. They make up their own scale and numbers to have really big numbers. That makes it hard for anyone to argue or challenge their claim. That is why the Parents Guide to Enzyme Products recommends that you stick with products that list FCC units. That is a national standard. If a product has other units, you need to the numbers in FCC units and get the conversion (the company should be able to supply the conversion). To mean the conversion of 48 to 1 makes a HUGE difference. .
