Guest guest
Dear Rich, I'm so happy to have you here and your knowledge available to us. You mention here that since the viruses may have been damaging the DNA, as years rolled by, this may explain why it is difficult to recover after many years of viral infections. What would this type of patient face as the process continues with no effective treatment possible? Would end results be vegetative brain for those with serious encephalopathy? Would pancreatic or liver failure be a probable outcome from inability to detoxify? Would a cancer such as leukemia, lymphoma or Hodgkins be strong possibilities due to immune compromise? Would really appreciate knowing your opinion on final stages and dying from this illness. (other than by suicide) Thank you in advance, Sheri Vankonynenbur said: > All of them require cell-mediated immunity for their effective control, and it ismissing, because the lymphocytes do not have the raw materials toreplicate themselves. The infections then start doing their damage. The RNaseL mechanismis a desperate attempt of the cells to defeat the viruses, but itknocks out the cells' normal RNA in the process, and thusdownregulates the production of essential enzymes, putting anotherpartial blockade into intermediary metabolism. I hope this isn't so,but it may be.This is probably more than enough for now. Comments would be welcome.Rich > >
