Pockets of high STD/HIV prevalence in Delhi

Dear Forum members,

One of our partner agency called CHELSEA is implementing an HIV inetervention

program in a slum area of East Delhi. It is a general community location, the

total population would be around 100,000. In the last 5 months of their working

they have come across 3329 STI/RTI cases and 92 HIV infected persons. The

figures are real mind boggling esp in a state which is consiered to be low

prevalent as per the National AIDS Control Organization, India
