My older son had problems with his iron level and iron supplements were not taking care of it. His tests are showing improvement. I know my younger sons RBC's are always low, but it seems to increase when his immune abnormalities are showing improvement. Cheryl
Guest guest
I've updated my iron page (more will hopefully follow over the weekend...) http://www.folkarts.com/idef/iron.htm The recent additions are below.. Researchers: "Beware of iron and copper supplements." Dr. Cheney, MD [*] Rickettsia/Mycoplasma and iron "Since the average diet in the western world includes 15 mg of iron per day, iron deficiency must have some underlying cause. This could be hereditary hemochromatosis, a deficiency of vitamin B12 or folate, or, in the case of hemolytic anemia, an acquired blood disorder." The Lancet, 04/2000[*] The later is definitely applicable to CFIDS because of the chronic B12 shortage. I am not slamming your doctor by this, I didn't mean it harshly - I mean - how to explain this to mine?I asked already about Luke's idea of timing the doses. That didn't go over big.Part of the problem here is that my doc doesn't understand ImmunoPro of any other low heat whey altho he is interested. And, he is very anti-abx for CFS. So rock and a hard place.
Guest guest
, if it's not too late to add my two cents, I think you may have a B12 deficiency causing the red blood cells to be too small. That's what my doc told me, and I am having weekly injections which really seem to be improving my energy level and overall well-being. You might ask your doctor about these. Good luck - Jennie --- Thorstensen <jane_doe_press@...> wrote: > Hi all, > > I need your help if anyone is having a similar > experience or can help me > think this through (or, if this has already been > discussed can someone > direct me in how to get to the archives?) > > A year, maybe longer, and a few years into CFS, I > started getting this > reading on a CBC of low MCV and low MCH.
