Guest guest
Thank you Ken for your " iron pages " . I am going there now. So helpful. And thank you Cheryl for the info and , yes - I am half Sicilian so that is a possibility (but does this low iron disease kind of creep up on a person? Could it be that I never had children for a good reason???) I'll do the math. And, and thank you. I heard the same thing from Jerome at NEEDS today. (BTW, he is an MD, not practicing - is 74, semi-retired so answers questions at NEEDS). He said that when he heard of my problem he called Wellsprings. The owner there (sorry, forgot name) told him there is a majow study underway, almost complete that studies the effect of ImmunPro (the lactoferrin in it) on raising serum iron levels. Couldn't give me any other details except that it looked promising - and that I had a decision to make. Either continue w the ImmunPro or the iron, not both. So, I got my CBC and since last year the MCV and MHV values are now normal. Good! But the Ferritin? Was 4, now is 7. " Normal " is anything from 10 - 190something. So, it is alittle higher. Seems like I need to discuss w my MD on Monday what the possible causes of low iron count would be - and not have it passed off as heavy periods. More like some infection, etc. And then I need to start to educate him, or more precisely, figure out where he is in his understanding of ImmunPro, low heat whey and its impact on intracellular glutathione levels in general. Will keep all updated. At least for the archives, a thread to follow. Thanks for the added input. I'll be back after I read your pages, Ken... ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com
