Guest guest
Thank you both Jennie and . After 10 years it is good for me to know I'm not alone with this. Until you both posted, I thought I was the only one out there who had this sudden and abrupt effect. Jennie, FYI, I should also add that within a couple of weeks of the hormone surge I developed a breast lump the size of an egg, and precisely the same shape. I had it removed under a local, as I insisted, talking to the doc, sitting up in a chair, during the whole procedure. (I hate being put out and will resist to the very end) The tumor was benign. Wish you the best and glad you have a good doc monitoring all this. For me, as I went to zero with all the hormones within weeks, I spent many nights out in my back yard standing in the snow in Seattle, (where I was living at the time) to cool off the severe hot flashes......barely clothed of course. Windows open in the bedroom where my then husband wore sweats to bed and a wool scarf around his neck. In retrospect, (and I'm laughing about it now) what a nightmare it must have been for him. Of course, no doubt, many times worse for me. I find it interesting, the mutual correlation to Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. I was never tested for adrenal insuffiency, although a doctor 3 years later started me on Cortisol which I did not tolerate well. I sleep for 3 days on the first dose. I would be interested in hearing more about your adrenal insufficiency, onset, symptoms etc. Did you progress to addison's symptoms, i.e. " moon face? " Any other systemic symptoms you can share with me would be appreciated. I hope you can get this surge under control. It is not fun! Best to you, Jennie. >> and - FYI - I had a similar experience with an estrogen surge when I was 38. Started having horrible migraines and PMS for most of the month. About a year later was diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis and adrenal insufficiency. I take hormones for both, as well as Indole 3-carbonate and Calcium D-glucarate to try to decrease my estrogen level which is still off the chart. My doctor is trying to get this down and prevent breast cancer.<<
