Today, Ken and I walked 7 miles, much of it uphill (and I did it

faster than I did a week ago without getting aerobic)...then later

today (after I had a nap and puttered around the house), we went to

the beach with the kids and dogs. There is a little local public

beach near us. I haven't done this for over a year and the last time

I went to the beach was before starting treatment this January.

Today I built a sand castle with our daughter, had fun and kept

rebuilding it as the waves knocked it down. A small thing, but the

last time I was to the beach, I would have been nauseaus after 5-10

minutes of this type of activity. Today I played with our daughter

in the sand for over an hour before I was tired out.

I have kept on asking Ken if he thought I was improving...his

recovery is going so much faster than mine (I've had the illness for

roughly 18 years). I'm finally convinced I'm really truly improving.

Laurie,

Thanks for words of encouragement! Hate and refuse the 5-year rule! Keep
