Guest guest
I have been taking the Choline/C mixture for about a week now, but wasn't sure what dosages to take, and had been trying to find the full article, so thanks for posting it. I feel slightly less fogged - I judge my brain-fog mainly on my ability to write coherently. The dosage does seem rather high. If I did the math right, we will be taking 1 gram choline/500 mg. C in water 3 times a day. Correct? I don't think anyone should rule out the possibility of pesticide poisoning as a co-factor. Anyone who has followed the Newcastle, Australia research group can see that pesticide residues might be found in a huge percentage of CFIDS patients. The more I read, the more I think pesticides are a huge causal factor in CFIDS. I am especially convinced of this due to the research that has been done on Gulf War Syndrome, especially the piece that found that PB (the anti-nerve gas pill soldiers were forced to take) combined with common pesticides (mainly DEET, found in common bug sprays, etc.), can replicate almost exactly the symptoms of GWS. The researcher who began this research for the government was kicked out of the USDA after pressure from the company that makes Off bug spray. What PB does in inhibit a certain enzyme that would be able to break down these pesticides. To cause this same mechanism in CFIDS patients, we would simply have to be lacking in an enzyme that could break down these same pesticides. The Newcastle, Australia group was the first group I read about to come close to developing a CFIDS test (the CFSUM). The compound they found in the urine of CFIDS patients is chemically similar to certain pesticides, and thus they began to study the implications of this, especially since Australia apparently has a very high rate of pesticide usage. What if one of the other potential markers -- mainly the two that show an enzyme dysregulation (R-Nase-L, and the test being developed by the remarkable teenage girl in Canada who found another enzyme problem in CFIDS patients) -- points to the fact that we are experiencing a similar enzyme suppression as the soldiers did when they took PB?
