Guest guest
Good Luck !  Be sure to take the time to interview that new surgeon first and ask lots of questions regarding how many of these surgeries they have done and the success rate of their patients. When I had my surgery in 2010 I wanted a surgeon that had done at least 100-200 under their belt, not someone who has done 20.  Julee from Oregon! From: " tlstevens2004@... They are going to fax my records down and contact me with an appointment for the consult. The only thing my doctor feels might need to be redone prior to surgery is the mannometry. I really hope not as I didn't do very well with it the last time. The technician couldn't get the probe into the LES so the results were considered inconclusive. I do have the option of botox if needed to get me by before surgery. Hopefully it won't be needed. It is wonderful to hear the positive stories of others who have recently had myotomies done. Hopefully within the next couple of months I can join the ranks of those who have had successful surgeries. S
Guest guest
I found a web page for this surgeon and he has done over 100 myotomies plus over 1200 gerd and hiatal hernia surgeries. I feel confident that he will do a good job. I just can't wait to get the consult so I can actually talk to him. The one thing I found on his website was that they specifically listed the myotomy for achalasia. So now is the waiting game. My doctor feels that this surgeon may require the manometry test to be redone. I am so hoping that won't be the case. I didn't do very well with the first one. Guest guest
Hi ,  Glad to hear you found a good one. Hopefully they can wait until after to do the manometry once you have the surgery. My first one went badly before I had dilation but the second one wasn't as bad afterwards.  Kim A ________________________________ From: " ravenstorm2008@...
